Northumberland based business support programme, Business Northumberland saw over 100 delegates from businesses across the North involved with the successful Media and Marketing Week which was held from Monday 10th May to Friday 14th May 2021

Media and Marketing Week boasted 5 online workshops covering a different topic each day of the week; Video Marketing and Your business, Email marketing, Canva, Video Animation and Creating Competitions to Convert to Custom. The week was rounded off with a specialist seminar featuring guest speakers and two North East based social media influencers. Alice Fairweather from Inspired and owner of @eatwithalice_ Instagram account has amassed over 10k followers in a really short space of time and Kerry Lockwood, owner of Kerry Lockwood In Detail an interior designer who has over 200k followers across various social media channels; Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok. Business owners across a host of sectors took part in the week, including Jill Campbell owner of Woodland Chase Glamping, “I’ve done a few of these courses and find them a real help. I liked today as it was real people’s stories about how they do it. It has inspired me to do some reels and stories about behind the scene of the business. I felt I really lacked creativity with content, but it gave me lots of ideas”.
As part of the seminar delegates were given an opportunity to be put into virtual focus groups, meaning they were able to take the inspiration from the weeks events and brainstorm with other business owners on how they can put this into practice and elevate their online profile, delegates were reminded it isn’t always about the numbers but the quality and creativity of the content on your business page and the importance of interacting with customers.
